Kevin Kauffman – Facilities Manager
I have had the privilege of working for Mount Oak since August of 1999. I was hired as the church custodian. My duties have expanded to managing the facility over the years. I must say that I serve an amazing God. I graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in the summer of 1999 with a Bachelors of Science in Plant and Wild Life Management. I was unable to find work on the East Coast due to the Government down sizing, when the opening occurred here at Mount Oak.
I have been married for 7 going on 8 years this May to my beautiful Bride Jill. Jill was born in Beltsville Maryland and moved to Davidsonville Maryland when she was 6 years old. We currently have a 10 year old cat named Peaches and a 3 year old Boarder Collie, Lab, and German Shepard mix. Jill and I are in the process of seeking God’s leading in adopting a child.
I was born and raised in Lewisdale Maryland. I attended Lewisdale Elementary School for Kindergarten and 1st grade. I then transferred to Lanham Christian School which I attended until High School, where I went to DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. I was involved in the high school band program as well as the Boy Scouts and my church youth group. In the Boy Scouts I reached the rank of Eagle, which is the highest rank, and after turning 18 I served as Assistant Scout Master for Troop 2 until if folded do to lack of enrollment of scouts.
Jill and I are currently involved in several areas of Mount Oak. We are attending a small group together. We also work together in the AWANA program as the Leaders of the Cubbies. Cubbies are the Preschool aged children. That has been one of the greatest joys. Jill is also involved with the Sunday morning praise team.
